04/17/2008 - Famous Anuses? We've gotten some press lately. Crazy! Check it all out some time...
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to talk to us, listen to us, & write about us !
DETUNED INTERVIEW AUDIO IS UP! Thanks to Smalley who broke through some technical difficulties to provide us with the audio of our night of debauchery on his debut show! I made up a lil' zip file and tossed it up here. Click here to download & listen! (To unzip the archive, I reccomend 7-Zip, but WinZip & WinRAR are OK too, I guess.) Yeah, we know, it's a big-ass file, but it's also a lot of audio, some "album art", and an html file.
4/08/2008 - The end of an error... I mean, era... Yeah. Era... That's it. The hunger benefit was cool. A review of the day should be up on our MySpace soon & I'll have some photos also hopefully. Don't forget to mark your calendar for that BBT show coming up. The BBT is always a cool place to play, and we primise to be as crazy as ever Buy a shirt before then, and maybe we'll autograph it. Ha ha ha.
04/03/2008 - DEAD END! Yup. We've decided to call it quits. For now, anyway. You have 2 more chances to see our asses, so check out the shows page! As always, keep watching the MySpace and the Message Board for further developments. You'll be seeing us around! And, you better be seeing us this Sunday for the hunger benefit. I heard a rumor about it. The final gig is sure to be a killer one at the BBT. The BBT is always a great place to play, and we'll be playing with two kick-ass bands. Well, one kick-ass band... and one kick-ass solo artist on loan from a band.
03/18/2008 - ROCK OUT TO STOP HUNGER! We've got some more shows lined up. Don't forget about the Peelander-Z show noted earlier, but also coming up we have a COMBAT AGAINST HUNGER benefit hosted by Gamma Sigma Sigma (GSS) at IUP. It looks like there's a well-rounded rock n' roll bill, so it should make for an interesting day, nad it's going to raise money for a good cause... The PATHWAY Homeless Shelter. You can find all kinds of information about purchasing tickets, the other bands, the charity, the sorority, and getting there on the shows page.
'Net Radio Interview! Did you catch us on BLKRADIO.NET a few weeks back? We did an interview on Wed. the 5th during the debut of their new Wednesday night live show, DETUNED. (Check out the event link for more details!) If you missed it, don't worry. The host, Smalley, is sending me the audio on a disc. As soon as I get that and a few minutes to put the stuff up for grabs... you'll be able to get your hands on it. Or at least you'll be able to get your mouse pointer on it.
If you did miss it, you need to subscribe to our blog, put the rss in your news reader, or join our mailing list. If you had done any of those things, you'd surely have known about it! We had a handfull of Dionites tune in to say hello, ask questions, and be jackasses. Thanks to all of you who tuned in & participated!
In a band & interested in getting on the show? Wonder no more! Straight from the horse's ass... I mean, mouth:
Blkradio has done it again! A new show is coming to you, live every Wednesday night! It is a non-genre format and all bands are welcome to check it out!
Detuned is looking for bands who want to get their creations heard! It's simple! Just email your band's name, background, and a mp3 to detuned@blkradio.net or myspace.com/detunedfrequency!
If you would like to join in and listen and interact with the BlkRadio Crew, check out the newest website.... WWW.BLKRADIO.NET and click the music note in the media center! Listen and chat all at the same time! What could be better??
Show the world what you are made of!!
The Reviews are in! Well, one review so far, anyway... by
Joe "tHE rIPPER" Dattilo. Check it out! We're looking for more reviews & opinions. If you're ridiculously awesome, and have already purchased LOADING NOISE... via download at SnoCap, then please let us know what you think! If you haven't, then what the hell are you waiting for? Currently, that's the only way it's available... unless you really want a CD-R... in that case, contact us and I'll do whatever I can to hook you up. To tell us your opinion of the album or get a CD-R, there's a plethora of ways to get a hold of us. Let's stick to the top three: 1. e-mail us; 2. Hit us up on MySpace; 3. Let us know at our message board.
If you are a person or if you know a person who does reviews for a website or publication... we'd love to get a review. We'd like some fair honest opinions & impressions. Contact us and let us know the rules for review submission. (Hey, if nothing else, you get a free album, at least. Ha ha ha.)
"Side" Projects? We'll, maybe GD is the side project right now... Maybe not. Ha ha ha. But the three of us have other stuff going on. Well... two of us, and sort of a third.
Dave's got the Satanic Bat rockin' hard with a massively heavy yet groovy stoner rock sound. You really need to buy their OSSR album, Tales From the Southland, Tales From the Sea... if a guitar riff or drum beat has ever turned you on. Dave plays some straight-up guitar riffage, but then attacks notes with a vengance, and dominates his effects pedal board which looks like the control panel to a star cruiserwith a mighty fury. I hear he also picks up some other odd instruments here & there too...
Mike also drums for Straight From Bolivia.
They're poppy 'Burgh punk rock who used to go by the name Last Call... and were also known as Portrait of Composure for a short time. Mike holds down the beat, and I think he maintains their MySpace. You can listen to four different tracks form them there, and it looks like there should be an album/demo/E.P. coming soon called Losing More Than Sleep I bet if you watch the MySpace, you'll see more news soon.
Eric can't escape AiXeLsyD. Ha ha ha.
Or maybe AiXeLsyD can't escape Eric? Some free tracks have recently been made available thanks to Josh of Head Records... on two collections currently only titled AiXeLsyD - Vol. 1 & AiXeLsyD - Vol. 2. And, rumor has it that Vol. 3 may be available soon! You can also buy some sweet merch there thanks to Zazzle. An-Die has been rumored to utter something along the lines of "Maybe we can do a reunion if I remember how to play."
02/16/2008 - We're Baaaack... Holy crap. It's been almost a year since the last site update? We've been active, but laying low... trying a few new directions, a few new people, and just rocking out in general. The show bug has bitten again, and we're back with a few new ones. Details on some of 'em coming soon, but for now, all you need to know is that Peelander-Z is coming back! We'll be playing with them and Pittsburgh's own Atomic Drops at the 31st Street Pub on March 27th... So mark your calendars now! If you've seen Peelander-Z before, you know they're not to be missed. If you haven't, then what the hell are you waiting for??? Check out their website for a preview of Japanese Comic Action Punk! (My personal favorite is the "S.T.E.A.K." video!) Also, be sure to hit up our shows page for all the details, links to the venue & other bands, directions, & more!
Up-To-Date Info is usually always available at our MySpace. Sorry for the lack of info here... but our future was & is kind've up in the air. Heh. Of course, we're all always at PittsburghBeat.com too... so the latest happenings are always buzzing there too. There's a lot going on though, just take a look at all the stuff detailed below!
LOADING NOISE... The Gasoline Dion album that never was is finally out. No, we don't have CD's pressed. It actually was never really professionally mastered... but it is available... for cheap! We set up a SnoCap store through MySpace... and you can now download LOADING NOISE..., a live show from Mr. Small's, and the original Pump 17 Is On demo! It's actually all available right here...
Hopefully we'll be making some new music in the near future. We have some that have never made it to the recording process. Maybe they'll eventually see the light of day.
Merchandise!! That's right. We also have some more snazzy new merch, again thanks to MySpace and Zazzle. We still have our old Café Press 1 & 2 stores, but this stuff looks to be a better selection and maybe even a little better quality.
So, buy our stuff, and be the coolest kid on your block!
Gasoline Dion to appear on a free Misfits Central digital download compilation! For all 3½ of you not in the band (at one point or another) and still into our stuff, check it out...
From Head Records' MySpace Blog :
The 'M CENTRAL COMPILATION - It's about violence, a tribute to THE MISFITS / SAMHAIN / DANZIG / THE UNDEAD' is starting to take form, and we have some really exciting news to reveal.
Not only do we have great music from HORROR OF 59, GASOLINE DION , ROUND 2 and many many more, but we can now reveal that we can expect to hear an exclusive track from THE UNDEAD!!!!!!! We're really thankful to Bobby for taking the time to do this, and we are all looking forward to seeing this compilation released in the spring.
And as if that wasn't enough, former SAMHAIN & DANZIG bass player EERIE VON will be providing some very special sleeve notes, sharing his memories and experiences with the bands that inspired such acts as METALLICA, AFI and countless others.
Notice how we're an advertising point?
It's not a stright-up tribute album. It's just acknowledging that we were inspired by the Misfits (& the plethora of related bands) in some part enabling us to do what we do. It hails from all the Fiends in bands that post on the Misfits Central forum . It should be called It's About Violence , due to a running joke on the forum.
Not sure which track(s) (off of our unmastered & never released LOADING NOISE... disc) will be appearing... but they're being picked by Josh at Head Records.
Also of note, Head Records is a little different. They're not selling discs. This comp will be available for free as a digital download. It will include a bunch of tracks, the exclusive Undead track (featuring Bobby Steele & Joey Image ) mentioned above, and the aforementioned liner notes by Eerie Von (of Samhain / Danzig ) .
Keep your eyes peeled, & we'll let you know when this is ready if you're interested.
Here's the latest info on that comp:
From a post on MisfitsCentral.com:

SUPER MEGA UPDATE
Okay, hate to say it but if you're not on this tracklist then I'm afraid any submissions I recieve will have to wait for Vol 2 (I could possibly fit like 1 or 2 more at the absolute max). This is because I'm doing all the art and stuff and it's all neatly ordered (lame excuse, but oh well).
So here is the tracklist......
1. Rusty Paperclip - It's about violence
2. Horror of 59 - Frankenstein returns
3. Gasoline Dion - Your face, my fist
4. The Undead - The invisible Kid (live)
5. United Mutations - Atom Age
6. The Ground - Shit for brains
7. Round 2 - long live the sound
8. Amon Black - Bitter end
9. The fullmoon renegades - Dead to me
10. AiXeLsyD - Cannibal Christmas
11. CrYpT - Buskers from hell
12. The bloody Jackos - Mosquitos from outer space
13. Soul leech - we can be as one
14. Brad Bittinger - Boulder Rock
15. Manchurian Candidate - Acedia & Avarice
16. Sam scumaci - Lucy Furr
17. Project 138 - Something worth fighting for (resurrection)
18. Rusty Paperclip - Invocation of the paperclip (sorry but this is going on there!!!)
Could all Final versions of these songs be submitted to me (most already have) within the next 4 weeks, I'm aiming for a mid-feb release!!
email is punkojosh@hotmail.com
And for anyone who is still in doubt about whether this'll be any good, I've listened to it through alot now.... It's really really good!!!
03/14/2007 - WTF? Okay. So, our last show (& 1st show as a 3-piece) didn't go as well as we'd like. So, we're searching for another guitar or bass player who's possibly able to sing a line or two... Partially to fill in a gap, partially just to get going in a new forward direction. Here's the "ad" that we've been putting out:
Wanted: Bass player or guitar player - with vocals
We are a punk rock/metal/comedy-type band. We can veer from the Misfits to Black Sabbath without batting an eye. We tend to lean towards the ridiculous. This band is for fun, if it stops being fun, we stop playing.
You need to be able to tune, play in time and occasionally wander off on your own where appropriate. If you can sing, that would be killer. If you can't sing and you still want to, that's fine as well, it hasn't stopped us yet. It would be great if you had the following items:
- a car or access to transportation
- your own instrument that mostly functions and stays in tune
- your own amp that can keep up with a drummer
Check us out at GasolineDion.com and http://www.myspace.com/gasolinedion or drop us a line at gd@gasolinedion.com if interested.
So please, spread the word, and help us move forward if you can.
OMEGALORD IS COMING! If you know us, you know we love Omegalord. They're coming to rock out with us on April 20th at the 31st Street Pub. Also along for the ride is Choking Faith out of Altoona, PA. We promise to be a little tighter this time around, ha ha ha.
02/09/07 - New Year, New Dion. So, we haven't played out in a while. That's changing soon. We've also decided to not replace T at the moment, and rock on as a three piece. We're all ready to crank out some new material that will make you tap your feet uncontrollably. We're also working on putting together the stuff that was recorded last year to make a yet-to-be-named upcoming album. Dave is doing the last bit of mixing, then we're gonna get it mastered. We might even step into the 00's and sell it as a digital download as well as a CD. Check out two new songs so far on our MySpace page... They're just rough mixes, but we'd love to hear what you think of them. Please, leave us a comment or reply to our blog to let us know what you think. Or, voice your opinion in our forum at the Beat. Check out this thread. Vote!!! I've been putting this all over MySpace:
Gasoline Dion has 2 new songs on our MySpace profile:
- "Two of a Kind" [Rough Mix]
- "Political Song (With Deep Meaning)" [Rough Mix]
Go listen , and better yet... Listen, then tell us what you think!
Please?

If we get a good response, we'll put up some more new stuff. Oh yeah, we've got a show coming up that you won't want to miss. We're rocking out with Mike's new band, Last Call, and new band... Threat Level: Midnight. Aside from having a kick-ass band name, you might just recognize a few (okay, all!) of their members! This is the first time for Gasoline Dion at the Birmingham Bridge Tavern, and our first outing as a three piece. We'd really appreciate it if you came to rock out with us! This bill excites me, it should be a kick-ass evening of punk rock and chaos. I also had fun making a flyer again.
10/14/06 - Communication Breakdown. Punk rock is apparently hard work. Come see us next weekend. It might be your last chance for a while, and we might have a surprise or two in store for you. Come eat some of the best f'n Polish food ever with us before the show!
